GKNVR
2025 · 6'A 360° film inside the former GKN factory in Campi Bisenzio, now a permanent workers' occupation.
Synopsis
After the mass layoffs of 2021, the GKN plant in Campi Bisenzio became a permanent occupation run by its workers. The viewer moves through it among idle machines, banners and assemblies, guided by the voice of Michele Riondino.
Production notes
We made it with Lorenzo Pedri, who has long been close to the collective and carried out most of the work. It was a film we felt we had to make.
Virtual reality here is a choice of language: an occupied factory is not something you look at, it is something you walk through, and whoever walks through it is asked to take a stand, even just with their gaze. Drone footage by Nuri Rashid, graphics with a contribution by Zerocalcare.
