Nebula
2025 · 17'Quiet Ensemble's installation at the Gazometro in Rome, set to an original score by Giorgio Moroder.
Synopsis
At Rome’s Gazometro, Quiet Ensemble turn the structure into a telescope aimed at the sky, made of laser light and spatial sound, set to original music by Giorgio Moroder. The documentary tells the story of the installation created for Videocittà, through the voices of the artists and Moroder himself.
Production notes
Videocittà asked us for a documentary and, alongside it, a virtual reality version: the same approach as Nelson and Jorit VR. Nebula and Nebula VR were born together.
The challenge was shooting in the dark, especially with 360° cameras. We chose to give up the legibility of some images to keep Quiet Ensemble’s work intact, as it came alive in darkness. The installation has since been dismantled: Nebula VR still lets you see it from the inside.
