A 360° journey through Tunis, to the places where the Italian presence is still visible.

Synopsis

The Medina, the Presbytery of Santa Croce restored with Italian funds, the spaces of everyday life. Visioni crosses Tunis following the traces of a cultural heritage shared by Italy and Tunisia.

Production notes

The film was born from a collaboration between the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin, Rai Cinema, Italy in Tunisia, the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis and Gold. Tunisian director Selim Harbi joined the production as fixer and mediator.

In Tunis we worked with a one-person crew handling both image and sound, free to move through the city and follow its encounters. In June 2024 the Italian Cultural Institute also hosted a workshop on virtual reality filmmaking for Italian and Tunisian students.
